Yahoo! has announced that they have launched new design for their search page today. This is the first major update that the search company since Marissa Mayer became CEO of the company around a year ago. Mayer said that this is a “new, modern design” that puts your results “front and center.”
“When it comes to search, nothing should stand between you and your results. That?s why we?ve placed search results higher on the page. And thanks to some under-the-hood performance improvements, many of you will notice that the page also loads faster,” stated Mayer. “We?re also introducing a new navigation bar at the top of the page so you can easily browse other Yahoo! sites. Over time, we?ll be rolling out the navigation bar across more Yahoo! properties.”
The first thing I noticed is that the new version of Yahoo! is that it looks similar to Google. Yahoo! said that they have increased the speed load time on the search pages. Yahoo! made it clear that this is just one out of many changes that are coming in the next few months.
