Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) has bought a startup called LookFlow. LookFlow is known for developing image recognition technology. The terms of the deal was undisclosed. Based in Mountain View, California, LookView announced that they would be working at Yahoo!’s Flickr team.
“Flickr is the largest collection of images we love. They share our passion for creating phenomenal experiences & technology to help you discover those images,” stated LookFlow on their website. “We couldn’t be more excited.” Yahoo! is hiring five engineers as part of the acquisition.
Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer is notorious for going on an acquisition binge ever since she joined the company. Some of the companies that Yahoo! acquired over the past year include Bread, Hitpost, Stamped, Tumblr, Snip.it, Astrid, and Xobni.
