Yahoo! received over 50,000 government requests for user data last year

Yahoo! has updated its Transparency Report and revealed that the company received 21,425 data requests from law enforcement agencies around the world during the second half of 2013. These data requests impacted 32,493 potential accounts.

Yahoo! released its first Transparency Report in September 2013. Between the numbers for the second half of last year and the first half, Yahoo! received a total of 50,895 total government requests.

This impacted a potential 95,268 accounts. These numbers are pretty close to what Google reported.
