For the last month, Yahoo! has been testing out new logos on their websites and now they have settled on their final decision (above). The new Yahoo! logo is thinner and cleaner with a new sans-serif typeface. The Yahoo! logo is purple and is a bit darker. It also features all upper-case letters.
“We knew we wanted a logo that reflected Yahoo – whimsical, yet sophisticated. Modern and fresh, with a nod to our history. Having a human touch, personal. Proud,” stated Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer in a blog post. “We didn’t want to have any straight lines in the logo. Straight lines don’t exist in the human form and are extremely rare in nature, so the human touch in the logo is that all the lines and forms all have at least a slight curve.”
Yahoo! has not updated their logo since 2009 and it has been mostly the same design since 1995.
