A couple of months ago, YouTube announced that they would be rolling out a new commenting system that is powered by the Google+ social network. YouTube tested Google+ on channel discussion tabs for a few weeks and it is now rolling out to all of the videos on the website. The roll-out started this week and will be fully effective over time. Google believes that comments on YouTube should improve in quality when being associated with a person’s identity in Google+. YouTube is also going to rank comments based on relevancy instead of chronology. For example, the number of +1s that a comment receives will base the ranking.
