YouTube Is Starting A Music Awards Show And Is Airing It On November 3rd

YouTube is responsible for propelling the careers for many of popular artists like Justin Bieber, Psy, Carly Rae Jepsen, Lindsey Stirling, The Lonely Island, and Cody Simpson.  The YouTube Music Awards show will be airing on November 3rd.

During the 90-minute show, seven awards will be handed out to nominees that has gained a lot of views in the past year.  Jason Schwartzman will be hosting the music awards show.

The event will have a lot of star power since Eminem, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, CDZA, and Lindsey Stirling will be performing.  The event will be taking place live at Pier 36 in New York.  The creative director of the YouTube Music Awards is Spike Jonze.

“Our point is to celebrate YouTube’s role in the music ecosystem,” stated YouTube’s vice president of marketing Danielle Tiedt.  “If you think about how most of us encounter music, it’s usually on YouTube, whether it’s stars like Miley Cyrus and her VMA performance or her new Wrecking Ball video, or musicians like Lindsey (Stirling), who broke thanks to our site.”

The nominees of the awards will be announced on October 17th.  Winners will be decided by fan votes.
