Zillow Acquires Mobile Shopping Platform Company Buyfolio

Posted Nov 1, 2012

Zillow is one of the most popular online research estate search engines.  Zillow has recently acquired Buyfolio, which is an online mobile and shopping platform company.  Buyfolio allows New York home shoppers to search and track for-sale listings with their real estate engine.  The terms of the acquisition are unknown.

Buyfolio’s goal is to make shopping for a home easier by giving homebuyers a guide.  Buyfolio users can build customized searches and receive notifications when properties that they are looking for hit the market.  Properties can also be saved to a portfolio to track price changes and status changes.

This is Zillow’s fourth acquisition.  Previously the company acquired RentJuice and Postlets.  When Zillow acquires a company, they ensure to integrate the technology into their own offerings.  For example, Zillow recently launched an ad-free marketplace for rental companies and landlords using technology from Rentjuice.

Zillow will be integrating Buyfolio’s online and mobile technology to Zillow Premier Agents.
