Zillow Digs Lets Users Find Photos Of Home Decor

Posted Feb 6, 2013

Zillow has launched a new product called Zillow Digs.  Zillow Digs is an iPad and web application that lets users share and find photos of home decor and remodeling projects.  The user interface is very Pinterest-like.

Zillow Digs users can browse thousands of photos and see Zillow’s Digs Estimates for the estimated cost based on where they live and the specifications of the house.  Users can create, share, and save boards of decoration ideas.  Zillow Digs users can browse Boards created by other users and comment on photos.

Zillow will name the architects, contractors, and designers that have worked on the space within each board.  Zillow can also recommend local home improvement professionals.  The Zillow Digs estimates tool is powered by a proprietary algorithm that analyzes housing data and research.

Data is grabbed from local contractors including materials, finish level, size, material rates, and regional labor rates.  Contractors, designers, and architects can use Zillow Digs to create their own branded board as a portfolio for their work.
