Podcasts app receives enhancements
With the new Podcasts app, podcast creators can use the Channels menu within the Library to list their podcasts in one location. This should help listeners discover more content from those sources.
There were improvements made to Up Next as well. When a listener plays an episode of a show before deciding to follow it, the episode will now remain in Up Next until the listener finishes it, marks it as played, or removes it. And new episodes from followed shows and recently saved episodes will appear at the top of the Up Next queue while episodes that listeners have started and older saved episodes will appear toward the end. Plus the latest episodes from recently followed shows appear at the start of Up Next. Also, episodes categorized with a “bonus” episode type will appear in Up Next.
AppleCare Coverage Status
iOS 16.4 makes it simpler to find the warranty status of their accessories. Under the Settings app > General > About > Coverage, you can see the warranty status of the Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Pencil, and other accessories.
Better 5G Support For T-Mobile / Consumers In Turkey
The iOS 16.4 update offers 5G Standalone network support on T-Mobile in the U.S. This could enable the iPhone to reach speeds of up to 3Gb per second. Plus iOS 16.4 offers 5G support on newer iPhones.
Push notifications for Safari
The websites and apps added to your iPhone or iPad Home Screen would be able to send push notifications in iOS 16.4. And besides notifications, the shortcut of the website could display an unread notification badge just like regular apps. Developers would have to add support for Web Push notifications in Safari. Plus Apple will allow third-party web browsers to add website shortcuts to the Home Screen after tapping on the Share menu.
Order Tracking Widget
Apple iOS 16.4 features a new Order Tracking widget for the Apple Wallet app. And it is available in 3 sizes.
Satellite information for Emergency SOS
After using the Emergency SOS on the satellite on the iPhone 14 Pro on iOS 16.4 will see more details about the next satellite’s availability. So instead of seeing “Available soon,” there will be a more specific time display with the number of hours and minutes until the next satellite is available.
Apple Music improvement
Apple iOS 16.4 now has a Sort button for songs, artists, and albums so that you could list the songs based on that information when it was added to the library, or the release year.
