Facebook Buys PlayGiga: Details About The Deal

Facebook has purchased a Spanish cloud gaming company called PlayGiga. PlayGiga is known for offering gaming services in Italy, Argentina, Chile, and Spain. The terms of the deal were undisclosed, but rumor has it that Facebook spent €70 million.

It is unknown exactly what Facebook is planning to do with PlayGiga. But this deal may indicate that Facebook may be getting into the cloud game streaming market. PlayGiga has about 300 games in its library.

Facebook updated its user interface with an emphasis on Gaming. This section features social video gaming service Facebook Gaming and a portal for its web-based Instant Games.

Facebook also owns virtual reality company Oculus. Plus Facebook also acquired Beat Saber recently.

Nearly all of the biggest tech companies run cloud gaming services like Apple (Apple Arcade), Google (Google Stadia), Microsoft (Microsoft xCloud), and Sony (Sony PlayStation Now).
