  • Hearst Magazines announced it named Kristen O’Hara as SVP and chief business officer. These are the details.

Hearst Magazines announced it has named Kristen O’Hara as SVP and chief business officer. O’Hara previously worked as an executive at WarnerMedia and Snap. Her position at Hearst will begin on January 6.

This position is newly created and she will oversee U.S. advertising sales and marketing for the company. And she will also be responsible for integrated and corporate sales.

“Kristen brings a wealth of experience, solid relationships and innovative ideas to this new role,” said Hearst Magazines president Troy Young.

Young also pointed out that O’Hara’s sales and leadership experience across various brands and platforms will help serve Hearst’s clients, audience engagement and business.

Last year, O’Hara joined Snap as the VP of global business solutions. Interestingly, she was offered a promotion about a month later to the chief business officer position, but then the offer was pulled. So O’Hara left Snap in about a month after starting work at the company.

O’Hara had worked at Time Warner/WarnerMedia for 16 years, of which 7 years was spent as CMO. At the media giant, she also launched the Time Warner Medialab.

“Hearst has been at the forefront of innovation for more than 132 years and serves as a model for how to stay relevant in an ever-changing media world,” added O’Hara. “I can’t wait to join the team.”
