HP Chromebook 15 Review: Pros And Cons

By Amit Chowdhry ● Oct 6, 2019

  • Are you thinking of buying the HP Chromebook 15? Here are some of the HP Chromebook 15 pros and cons for you to consider before buying one.

The HP Chromebook 15 is a new elegant laptop that gets the job done.

With a thin and light metal design, the HP Chromebook 15 looks modern and sleek. Plus the powerful internal specifications will ensure that you can stay productive with minimal lagging.

Inside of the HP Chromebook 15 is 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. While the internal storage may sound low, you can save space by moving a lot of files to the cloud such as transferring photos to Google Photos.

Pro: Beautiful Design

The HP Chromebook has an optimized metal design that makes it look sleek.

Pro: Large Display

With a display size of 15 inches, the HP Chromebook 15 gives you more pixels (1920 x 1080 resolution) to work with. I prefer a 15-inch as my primary work device and then I use small screen devices while handling less important tasks before going to bed.

Pro: Full Number Pad On Keyboard

HP was able to squeeze in a full number pad since the Chromebook 15 is larger in size. This feature is underrated since it makes crunching numbers on Google Sheets much easier. The larger sized laptop also enabled HP to integrate a larger-sized touchpad on the Chromebook 15.

Pro: Bang & Olufsen Speakers

The Bang & Olufsen speakers built into the HP Chromebook 15 sound great. If you spend a lot of time streaming music, then you will truly appreciate this feature.

Pro: Ports Galore

The more ports on a laptop, the better in my opinion. The HP Chromebook 15 has 2x USB-C ports, a USB Type-A port, a microSD port, and a headphone jack.

Pro: Android App Compatibility

The ability to use Android-based apps on the Chromebook 15 is a nice touch. This substantially increases how the laptop can be used.

Con: It’s Not Cheap

Unfortunately, the HP Chromebook 15 is priced at $449.99 so early adopters will have to pay a little bit of a premium here. But if you want to spend a little bit less while still having the convenience of a Chromebook, then I would recommend that you look at the Chromebook 14.

Pulse 2.0 Score:

The HP Chromebook has received 4 out of 5 stars. While the Chromebook 15 is sleek and high-quality, it is priced on the higher side. And there are many other high-quality Chromebooks on the market at various price points.

However, I would still recommend the HP Chromebook 15 is $450 is within your price range and you are looking to pick up one of the best Chromebooks on the market this year.
