WorldQuant Names Gary Chropuvka As President

Global quantitative asset management firm WorldQuant announced it has appointed Gary Chropuvka as president. Chropuvka is going to oversee global business strategy, firm operations, and priority initiatives as well as provide additional leadership in firm investment activities. And he will join WorldQuant in late 2020.

WorldQuant was founded in 2007 by Igor Tulchinsky and it has over $7 billion in assets under management. The company also has 23 offices in 13 countries and over 600 employees around the world.

Chropuvka worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management for over two decades where he most recently served as Co-Head of Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS). And Chropuvka held other various roles at QIS, including the oversight of its customized beta, tax-efficient, and alternative risk premia businesses. Plus he also served as a QIS Equity Alpha portfolio manager. Plus Chropuvka joined QIS in 1999 to launch the team’s tax-efficient investment strategies after first joining Goldman Sachs in 1998.

Chropuvka had graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Mathematics and received a master’s degree in Financial Engineering from Columbia University. And he is a CFA charterholder.
