  • At the Game Awards 2019, Microsoft EVP of gaming Phil Spencer pointed out that the console will support the ability to suspend and resume multiple games

During the Game Awards 2019, Microsoft announced that Project Scarlett would officially be known as Xbox Series X. And Microsoft also unveiled the design of the Xbox Series X, which resembles a PC tower.

One of the other details that Microsoft executive vice president of gaming Phil Spencer and partner director of program management – Team Xbox Jason Ronald revealed in an interview with GameSpot is that there will be an upgrade to the Xbox One game suspension feature.

The Xbox Series X is adding support for the ability to suspend and resume multiple games. And Spencer said that the Series X will be able to perform these functions quietly.

“Today, we have the capability of instantly resuming the last game that you were playing,” said Ronald in an interview with GameSpot. “Why can’t you do that for multiple games? Many players choose to play multiple games at the same time, being able to instantly jump right back where I was, those are things that we can do with the platform level to make the gaming experience better.”

The Xbox Series X will have four times the CPU power of the Xbox One X. And the Xbox Series X will also stream games in 8K and up to 120 frames per second rendering. Plus the Xbox Series X will feature a custom-designed solid-state drive, GDDR6 SDRAM, real-time ray-tracing support.
