Zynga announced recently that it is partnering with Amazon for offering exclusive content to Prime subscribers. Zynga essentially debuted free Words With Friends 2 content for Prime subscribers earlier this week. And additional promotional content offerings will be launched soon.

In an interview with VentureBeat, Zynga’s president of publishing Bernard Kim said that the launching of Amazon Prime promotional content is just the beginning of the partnership between the two companies.

The “Words With Friends” franchise saw record revenue last quarter and also benefitted from the growth of in-game ads. And the extra promotion on Amazon Prime and Twitch Prime could also help drive more engagement and increase the audience for the gaming company.

Now Amazon Prime users can claim free mobile game content like mystery boxes within Words With Friends. And Twitch Prime vice president Ethan Evans pointed out that Amazon is excited to have Zynga bring rewards to Prime subscribers.

“You’ll be able to access these mobile rewards in the game for our players who subscribe to Amazon Prime,” added Kim via VentureBeat. “We’ll have some exclusivity in the bundle of perks. We believe the partnership timing is ideal with Amazon. Games right now are such an important source of enjoyment, connection, and in some cases escape. It’s a way to tell people ‘I’m OK’ by playing games with someone.”
