Yahoo! Japan Corporation has recently unleashed a new service called Minna Topics.  The website has a Digg-like rating system and utilizes popularity clouds.  The stories that users post can be categorized and commented on.  Users can also subscribe to the website using RSS.

There is only so much I learned browsing the site using Google translator, but from looking at the number of votes on the particular stories, it seems to be a hit.  Yahoo! seems to have a strong market-share in Japan.   This is evidenced by the fact that Yahoo! Japan is ranked #10 in the Alexa Global Rankings and #1 in Japan.  It is also evidenced by this commercial of Yahoo! Japan’s phone software featuring Cameron Diaz:
