Google Launches MyMaps: Customize And Share Personalized Maps

Yesterday, Google unveiled a new feature for its Maps service. The new service allows users to save maps, add placemarks, draw shapes, and draw lines.

Users can also embed text, photos, and videos as well. When users create the maps, they are also given a unique URL so that they can share their creation with friends.

The Google blog has listed a few examples of great ways to use this new feature.  One of the examples that stuck out to me is the list of cities that have hosted the Olympics and Winter Olympics.
