Ford recently announced that the reservations for the First Edition of the Mustang Mach-E are officially full. However, there are still opportunities to pre-order other models like the Premium edition and the GT.

Here are some fast facts that Ford shared:

– The 2021 Mustang Mach-E First Edition reservations are full
– The Carbonized Gray model is the most popular choice with 38% choosing it, Grabber Blue Metallic at 35% and Rapid Red at 27%
– Over 80% of U.S. customers are reserving Mach-E with an Extended Range Battery
– About 55% are opting for the all-wheel drive option
– Nearly 30% of U.S. customers are choosing the Mach-E GT
– Over a quarter of all reservations are coming from California

Back in November, Ford announced it was expanding the Mustang lineup for the first time in 55 years with the upcoming all-electric Mustang Mach-E SUV. The Mach-E will feature an all-new infotainment system and connected vehicle technology.

The Mach-E is being developed in a century-old brick building a few blocks away from Henry Ford’s first factory in Detroit. And when it arrives in late 2020, the Mach-E will be available with standard and extended-range battery options with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive powered by permanent magnet motors.

The Mach-E has a targeted EPA-estimated range of at least 300 miles. And in extended-range all-wheel-drive configurations, Mach-E is targeting 332 horsepower and 417 lb.-ft. of torque – with the standard all-wheel-drive variation targeting quicker times to 60 mph than the base Porsche Macan series.

Ford’s chief product development and purchasing officer Hau Thai-Tang said that the Mach-E “wholeheartedly rejects the notion that electric vehicles are only good at reducing gas consumption.” And Thai-Tang pointed out that “people want a car that’s thrilling to drive, that looks gorgeous and that can easily adapt to their lifestyle – and the Mustang Mach-E delivers all of this in unmatched style.”

Debuting in the Mach-E is the next-generation SYNC communications and entertainment system, which features a sleek and modern interface that utilizes machine learning to quickly learn drivers’ preferences and gets better over time through advanced over-the-air updates. The next-generation SYNC 15.5-inch screen and simple interface ditches complicated menus thus making it easier to access features with touch, swipe, and pinch controls that every smartphone owner will be comfortable using.

Ford enterprise product line director of global electrification Darren Palmer explained that it could “suggest going to the gym if it learns Mondays are workout days or calling home if you do that every day after work.”

Ford will make charging at home or on the go easier by providing multiple home charging solutions and by giving customers access to the FordPass Charging Network. There are more than 12,500 charging stations (and more than 35,000 charge plugs) and growing in the U.S.
