Adobe updates Photoshop Express Android app

Adobe has updated the Photoshop Express Android app. The app lets you edit photos using Adobe Photoshop features and then share them on social websites like Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. Photoshop Express 2.0 is now Android KitKat compatible. Android users will be able to access and process the images that are saved on the SD card quicker than before. The app also has a faster imaging engine. The app has been updated with a faster imaging engine and can handle larger file sizes. Adobe also added one-touch filters and enhancements. Cropping, red-eye reduction, and auto-correct are now integrated into the app. Check out the screenshots below:

Acer Liquid Z5: An Android smartphone with AcerRapid that is heading to Europe and Asia

At CES, Acer has revealed the Liquid Z5 handset. The Liquid Z5 runs on Android Jelly Bean and has DTS sound. There is a 1.3GHz dual-core Mediatek processor, 512MB RAM, and 4GB internal storage. The Liquid Z5 also has a 5-inch screen with a special filter to enhance the contrast. The Liquid Z5 has a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and a button on the back called AcerRapid.

Gartner: Google Inc (GOOG) to hit 1 billion Android device shipments this year

According to Gartner, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is expected to hit 1 billion in Android shipments this year. The 1.1 billion shipments would place Android well above all of their competition in the smartphones and tablets. Microsoft Windows is pegged at second place with 359 million shipments. Windows is followed by Apple’s iOS and Mac OS at 344 million forecasted shipments. Android is nearing 2 billion in total installed devices largely due to lower-cost devices.

Google has acquired Bitspin. Bitspin is a Switzerland-based company that is known for designing an Android alarm clock app called Timely (Google Play). Timely is a free app on Google Play, but makes money from in-app purchases such as themes and games.

DreamWorks is launching an Android tablet called the “DreamTab” this spring

DreamWorks has partnered with Android tablet company Fuhu on an upcoming tablet called the DreamTab. The DreamTab will come shipped with several kids apps and a stylus. Content on the tablet will allow kids to interact with DreamWorks toys and shows. One of the shows will teach kids how to draw. An 8-inch model of the tablet will arrive this spring for under $300. A 12-inch version of the DreamTab will be coming shortly after the 8-inch.
