Verizon Wireless Announces 4G LTE-Enable HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr


Verizon Wireless revealed a new laptop earlier this week. The new laptop is called the HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr and it features an embedded 4G LTE modem for high speed connection. The dm1-3010nr is 1.2 inches thick. Specs include an 11.6-inch 1366×768 pixel LED display, 1.6GHz dual-core AMD processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB hard drive, VGA webcam, and Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. The laptop went for sale yesterday with a price of $599.99. Below is the press release and data plans are as follows:

Apple Now Third In US PC Market

Apple, with 10.7% of the market share, is now the third-largest vendor of PCs in the US. Mashable reports that the Gartner data shows Hewlett Packard at the top of the market with 26.9%, followed by Dell with 22.6%. This is an 8.5% growth for Apple.

Intellectual Ventures Suing 13 Companies for Patent Infringement

Intellectual Ventures is suing a group of companies for patent infringement. Companies being sued include Acer, Adata Technology, Asustek Computer, Best Buy, Dell, Elpida Memory, Hewlett Packard, Hynix Semiconductor, Kingston Technology, Logitech International, Pantech and Wal-Mart. According to TechCrunch, the patents deal with memory technology and methods.

Apple Loses Their Chief Patent Counsel

Richard Lutton Junior, Apple’s chief patent counsel, is resigning from Apple. The decision comes amid a flurry of patent litigation for the company. BJ Watrous is now listed on LinkedIn as Apple’s chief IP counsel. Watrous was formerly a deputy general counsel at HP. Lutton is said to be leaving Apple within the next month. [Reuters]

HP Files Civil Lawsuit Against Oracle Over Itanium Platform


Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) has filed a civil lawsuit against Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL). HP believes that Oracle’s March 22nd statement to discontinue the developed on the Itanium platform violates the legally binding commitments that Oracle made with HP. Oracle allegedly made commitments to HP and over 140,000 shared HP-Oracle customers. HP filed the civil lawsuit in the Superior Court of the State of California in the County of Santa Clara. HP European Head Eric Cador Says TouchPad Will Be Better Than Number One Tablet


Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) European head Eric Cador has high hopes for the HP TouchPad tablet. While at a press conference at Cannes, Cador said “in the PC world, with fewer ways of differentiating HP’s products from our competitors, we became number one; in the tablet world we’re going to become better than number one. We call it number one plus.” That means the TouchPad would have to beat the Apple iPad. The TouchPad uses the WebOS operating system. [Telegraph UK]

HP CEO Leo Apotheker Warns Execs Of Another Tough Quarter Ahead


Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) CEO Leo Apotheker has warned exeutives in an internal memo that “another tough quarter” is coming and he asked them to watch every penny. HP plans on reporting their results before market hours today. HP has sharply lowered expectations after sales trimmed in March. HP Announces EliteBook 2760p Tablet, ProBook 5330m, and EliteBook 2560p


HP has announced a trio of PCs. The HP EliteBook 2760p convertible tablet is 12.1 inches and it has a Sandy Bridge Core i5 and Core i7 CPU options. It also has 5.5 hours of battery life and is compatible with DataPass. It also has Windows 7 and can be bought now for $1,500.
