J2 Global Names Nate Simmons As President Of Cloud Services

  • J2 Global announced it has named Nate Simmons as its President of Cloud Services and will be reporting to J2 Global CEO Vivek Shah

J2 Global — a leading Internet information and services company — announced it appointed of Nathaniel (Nate) Simmons as the President of its Cloud Services division. And he will report to J2 Global CEO Vivek Shah and will be part of J2 Global’s executive leadership team.

Simmons is coming to J2 Global from Symantec where he worked as senior vice president and chief operating officer of its $2.4 billion consumer division which provides cyber security, identity protection and privacy solutions under the Norton and LifeLock brands. And prior to Symantec, Simmons was SVP of Consumer Marketing at Time Inc. where he oversaw subscription revenue for a portfolio of publications.

Simmons started out his career at McKinsey & Company, Inc. and he holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an A.B. Honors degree in Economics from Harvard University.

“Nate has a tremendous record of leading high-performing teams, generating profitable revenue growth and driving accretive acquisitions,” added Shah. “His proven success makes him a natural choice to lead Cloud Services, particularly with our growing emphasis on security and privacy solutions. Based in Los Angeles, J2 Global has a business cloud services and a digital media division. Back in 2012, J2 Global acquired Ziff Davis for $167 million. And then it acquired IGN Entertainment from News Corp a few months later. Under Ziff Davis, there are a number of well known brands like PC Magazine, IGN.com, Mashable, Techbargains, Geek.com, Ookla, AskMen.com, and GameTrailers.
