Justin TV Now Supports Live Video Broadcasting On The iPhone
Justin.tv now has a live video broadcasting service for the iPhone. This announcement was made about two weeks after Justin.tv was launched on the Android operating system. The Justin.tv 2.0 iPhone application not only has live streaming, but there is also chatting and Facebook/Twitter sharing features.

Justin.tv iPhone App Hits About 355,000 Downloads In The First Week
The Justin.tv iPhone application went live on the App Store about a week ago and it has hit about 355,000+ downloads already, giving them the #2 rank in the free social networking category. The application allows users to view, chat on, and share live videos. The application will soon have push notifications so that when your favorite channels start live streaming, you will get a pop-up notification. [iTunes Link via Mashable]

Joe Biden Uses Justin.tv To Live-Stream Speech At Tel Aviv University
Joe Biden was visiting Israel and there was no way for The White House to stream a speech that he was giving at Tel Aviv University. So he decided to use web streaming service called Justin.tv. The reason why Joe Biden’s use of Justin.tv is interesting is because some users have live-streamed shows and events which led to potential copyright infringement cases. In November 2008, police investigators had to investigate Justin.tv because a man committed suicide live on the service. [TechDirt]

Justin.tv Being Investigated By Florida Police
Justin.tv, the live streaming video web service is being investigated by police in Florida. The police is determined to find out what Justin.tv’s role was in the suicide case of a teenager last week. Abraham Biggs Jr. wrote that he was going to kill himself with prescription drugs on a live webcam streaming on Justin.tv.
Several members of the discussion board called the police. The police showed up about 12 hours after Biggs posted his first note on bodybuilding.com. After Biggs died on live video, some of the most disturbing comments started appearing and Justin.tv deleted the video. The Pembroke Pines Police Department are looking into the role that the members of Justin.tv played in the suicide case.
“We regret that this has occurred and want to respect the privacy of the broadcaster and his family during this time,” stated Justin.tv CEO Michael Seibel.
InformationWeek also points out that in several cases, including in the state of New York, “anyone who advises someone to commit suicide can be charged with manslaughter.”

Justin.tv Raises Funding For Trendy Lifecasting
Justin Kan and Emmett Shear are entrepreneurs that have a close-knit relationship with Y-Combinator. Kan and Shear created a calendar company called Kiko which sold on eBay for $258,000. Since then, Kan launched Justin.tv last March. Justin.tv is also backed by Y-Combinator.
Justin.tv is a website dedicated to the “lifecasting” of its members. Members of Justin.tv attach a webcam to their computers and chat with those who are interested in their life. Imagine The Truman Show except for multiple characters and the filming is voluntary. Browsing from camera-to-camera reminds me of browsing albums on an Apple iPhone:
