The Magellan RoadMate 1700 GPS is now available for pre-order on several retailer websites including Best Buy. The 1700 has a 7″ touchscreen, AAA TourBook feature, text-to-speech, turn-by-turn voice commands, mini USB 2.0, microSD card slot, and 6 million POIs. The 1700 is available for pre-order now for about $300.
Magellan has been out of the game for a while since they were acquired by MiTAC. Now Magellan has announced their second product and it is called the RoadMate 1475T PND. The RoadMate 1475T is basically a newer and more high-tech version of the RoadMate 1470. The RoadMate 1475T specs include 4.7″ WQVGA anti-glare display, AAA TourBook listings, six million points of interest, spoken street names, highway lane assist, QuickSpell, and NAVTEQ maps. The U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico are all supported. The price of the device is about $299.
