Microsoft Surface Supply Chain Suppliers Talks Of Smaller Tablet

There are new reports that Microsoft Corporation is preparing to launch an 8-inch version of the Microsoft Surface tablet.  According to DigiTimes, a Taiwan-based supply chain reported that Microsoft will be showcasing an 8-inch Surface tablet in June.  Another 10-inch version of the tablet is also expected to arrive in Q3.

RUMOR: Microsoft Is Working On A Smaller Version Of The Surface Tablet

Microsoft is preparing to launch a new line of Surface tablets, which are going to be smaller than the original according to a report by DigiTimes.  The new Surface tablets are expected to be announced in the next few months, possibly at the Microsoft Build Conference in June.

Microsoft Has Sold A Total Of About 1.5 Million Surface Tablets Thus Far

Microsoft Corporation has sold under 1.5 million Surface tablets according to Bloomberg.  This number includes around 1 million Surface RT tablets and about 400,000 Surface Pro tablets.  The Surface RT was released in October 2012 and the Surface Pro was released in January 2013.  The 1.5 million figure is a small dent compared to the number of tablets that have been sold running on Android and iOS.

Microsoft Surface Pro Arriving On February 8

The Microsoft Surface Pro is going to be arriving at Best Buy at midnight on February 8th.  The Surface Pro’s launch will be part of a special event.  Microsoft is holding a private reception before the special launch event at Best Buy in Union Square according to ZDNet.

The Microsoft Surface Pro Will Start Selling On February 9th In The U.S. and Canada

Microsoft Corporation recently announced that the Surface Pro will be available starting on February 9th.  The tablet will be powered by Windows 8 and will be available for purchase next month from retailers in the U.S. and Canada.  It will be available in additional markets over the next few weeks and months.
