Mio Moov S501 and S401 GPS Devices To Be Available In June

Mio has announced the official availability of their new GPS devices: the Moov S501 and the Moov S401. The Moov S401 has a 4.3″ inch display and the S501 has a 4.7″ display. Both will have a “Spirit” interface and will have Google Send-To-GPS functions. NavPix will provide location-pulling frompohots and there is a text-to-speech feature for street names. MioMore 2 PC software will have a way to calculate mileage and fuel economy. The S501 is the thinnest personal navigation device to date at 0.64″ thickness. The S401 is 0.71″ thick. The S501 will cost $200 and the S401 will cost $180 and both will arrive in June.

Mio Unveils Explora K70 Phone

Taiwanese manufacturer Mio has unveiled a new mobile phone called the Explora K70. It is the first 3.5G GPS mobile phone and will be running on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. The phone will have a highly accurate GPS/AGPS receiver. The phone will be compatible with quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connection and tri-band HSDPA/HSUPA. There is 3.5″ TFT touchscreen with 240×400 pixel resolution. The built-in camera is 3 megapixel with auto focus and geo-taggging capabilities. There is also a rotation sensor, bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and support for MicroSD/SDHC memory cards for additional storage.
The handset is powered by Qualcomm’s MSM7201A 528MHz CPU and 256MB ROM with 128MB RAM memory. The battery life has 4 hours of GPS usage time and 4.5 hours of talk time with up to 200 hours of standby time. The device weighs 115 grams.
