Panasonic Announces HM-TA20, HM-TA2, HX-WA10, HX-DC10, and HX-DC1 Camcorders

Panasonic has announced 5 new camcorders. The camcorders are the HM-TA20, HM-TA2, HX-WA10, HX-DC10, and HX-DC1. Below are the specs of the camcorders.
- HM-TA20 – The HM-TA20 is a Flip-like camera with a lens on one side and an LCD on the other side. It can do 1080p footage, but does not do optical zooming. It also has 3 meters of waterproof protection and records at 15fps.
- HM-TA2 – The HM-TA2 is like the TA20 but it has slightly less features. But The TA2 has comes with a tripod.
- HX-WA10 – The WA10 is water-proof, shock-proof, and dust-proof. It can take 16 megapixel pictures and record at 1080p. It has a pistol-like grip and can flip-out. It has a 3 inch LCD to view the video.
- HX-DC10 – This is just like the WA10, but it is not waterproof, dust-proof, or shock-proof.
- HX-DC1 – The HX-DC1 can take 14 megapixel pictures and it has a 3-inch LCD. But it is not touchscreen.

Panasonic Lumix TS3 Is One Rugged 12-Megapixel Camera

The Panasonic Lumix TS3 rugged camera has a GPS, compass, altimeter, and barometer built in. The GPS is used for geotagging photos and videos. The TS3 is waterproof approximately 40 feet underwater and is freeze-proof at 14 degrees Fahrenheit. It is also dust-proof and crush-proof. The Lumix TS3 has a 28mm equivalent wide-angle lens with a 4.6x internal zoom, 2.7-inch LCD, and 12-megapixel high-speed CCD sensor. Panasonic’s Venus Engine FHD processor is built in and it shoots in full resolution at 3.7 frames per second. It also has full HD movie capture in AVCHD format. The Lumix TS3 has high-speed shooting for 3D photos. The TS3 takes 20 shoots with a press of the shutter release and it picks the two best for creating a 3D MPO file for 3D-enabled TVs and computers. The TS3 will be available in March in red, orange, silver, and blue. Pricing is not yet known.

Panasonic has announced the Lumix FX78. The FX78 ultracompact camera has an f2.5-5.9 24mm equivalent wide-angle lens with a 5x zoom. Other specs include 3.5-inch touch-screen LCD and a 12-megapixel high speed CCD sensor. It has a Venus Engine FHD processor with a full resolution of 3.7 frames per second. The camera has HD movie capture in AVCHD format. The FX78 can shoot 20 shots and it picks the best two for creating a 3D MPO file. This can be played on 3D-enabled TVs. The FX78 will be available this March in black, gold, and white. The price is not yet known.

Tesla Expecting To Make $60 Million In Revenue For Work On The RAV4

Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) is expecting to make about $60 million in revenue for building the electric components for the Toyota RAV4 SUV. Toyota bought $50 million worth of equity in Tesla shortly after the California based electric vehicle company went public in June. Tesla will be building the batteries, gearbox, motor, and electric control system. Tesla also received a $30 million investment from Panasonic on November 2nd. Tesla sells the Roadster sports car for $109,000 and is planning to start selling a luxury sedan called the Model S in 2012. [WSJ]

Panasonic has invested $30 million into Tesla Motors and will receive a 2% stake in the electric car company. This investment was sent to Tesla about a week after the grand opening of Tesla’s factory. Tesla has been using Panasonic cells for their Tesla Roadster battery packs.
