SOLS Systems raises $6.4 million in funding

SOLS Systems has announced it has raised $6.4 million in Series A funding led by existing investor Lux Capital and new investor Founders Fund. Other existing investors that participated in this round include RRE Ventures, Rothenberg Ventures, Felicis Ventures, FundersGuild and Grape Arbor VC. SOLS’ first product is a 3D printed custom insole that is sold by doctors. SOLS plans to sell directly to the public next year.

Electric Cloud has announced it has raised $12 million in funding. The company raised a first $8 million of this round back in September and received an additional $4 million from its current investors like Siemens Venture Capital, U.S. Venture Partners, Mayfield Fund, RRE Ventures, and Rembrandt Venture Partners.

OnDeck is an alternative lending company that has raised $77 million in funding led by Tiger Global Management with participation from Institutional Venture Partners, RRE Ventures, SAP Ventures, Google Ventures, First Round Capital and Peter Thiel. OnDeck has raised a total of $180 million in equity and $300 million in debt financing.

Business Insider, a popular business and tech blog, has raised $12 million in funding led by Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos with participation from existing investors Institutional Venture Partners, RRE Ventures, and Gordon Crovitz. Business Insider has now raised a total of $30 million in the last 7 years. Business Insider is rumored to have turned down a $100 million offer from AOL last year.

Datadog raises $15 million in funding

Datadog is a startup that focuses on monitoring company workloads that run on Amazon Web Services. Datadog has raised $15 million in Series B funding led by OpenView Venture Partners. Existing investors Index Ventures, RTP Ventures, Amplify Partners, IA Ventures, Contour Venture Partners, NYCSeed and RRE Ventures also participated in this round. Datadog has raised a total of $22.5 million. Datadog plans to use the funding to expand their infrastructure. Datadog added over 30,000 servers under management in this past year. Some of their customers include Coursera, HP Cloud Services, Intel, and Salesforce.com.
