Schroders Capital – a specialist private markets division of the Schroders Group – announced the appointment of Ingo Heinen as the Global Head of Business Development and Product.

For this newly-created role, Heinen will drive business development globally in partnership with Schroders’ Client Group and lead the evolution and management of Schroders Capital’s products and solutions, focused on delivering market-leading investment solutions for clients.

This senior appointment marks a significant milestone in expanding Schroders Capital’s global platform. Last year, Schroders Capital generated $11.6 billion of fundraising across this suite of private market capabilities. With $93.7 billion in assets under management, Schroders Capital offers a diversified range of investment strategies, including real estate, private equity, secondaries, venture capital, infrastructure, securitized products, and asset-based finance, private debt, insurance-linked securities, and BlueOrchard (Impact Specialists).

Schroders Capital has a track record of innovation. Last year, it launched the UK’s first Long-Term Asset Fund, Climate+. And earlier this month, the British Business Bank awarded £150 million to invest in UK science and tech companies.

Heinen brings significant experience to the role. He previously served as the Head of Marketing and Client Relations, EMEA, at Intermediate Capital Group (ICG). At ICG, he led the fundraising team across EMEA and was responsible for raising capital for private and liquid credit, private equity, real estate, and infrastructure.

Previously, Heinen spent ten years at BlackRock, where he built and led the fundraising team for the alternative investments business in EMEA. And over the preceding decade, Heinen worked in derivatives structuring, product development, and fund-linked sales at RBS, Nomura, and Merrill Lynch.
