Rumor: Snapchat To Raise $100 Million With Nearly A $1 Billion Valuation

 is a picture-chatting app for iOS and Android that is up to 10x faster than MMS.  In April 2013, Snapchat was hitting around 150 million photos taken per day.  Users can take photos, record videos, add text, and create drawings using the app.  You can set a time limit for how long recipients can view their photos, up to 10 seconds, and then they will be hidden from the device and deleted from the company’s servers.

Snapchat Is Now Seeing 150 Million Photos Taken Per Day

Snapchat is a real-time picture chatting application that has surged in popularity.  Snapchat is currently seeing around 150 million photos being sent back-and-forth on a daily basis.  This is three times the increase in four months according to Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel.  Spiegel revealed the milestone at the D: Dive Into Mobile conference today.

Stanford Graduate Frank Brown Is Suing Snapchat Co-Founders

Frank Brown is a South Carolina based man that attended Stanford University with Snapchat co-founders Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy.  Brown claims that he came up with the idea for Snapchat and approached Spiegel with the idea.  He claimed that he had a “million dollar ideas” on his hands.  Now Brown is suing Snapchat.

Snapchat Raises $13.5 Million

Snapchat is a popular photo and video messaging mobile app where the content gets deleted after a short amount of time.  Snapchat has raised $13.5 million in funding led by Benchmark Capital according to AllThingsD.  The valuation of the company is believed to be at around $60-$70 million.  Snapchat is currently hitting around 60 million photos per day.
