Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report decided to poke some fun at AOL’s acquisition of The Huffington Post for $315 million. When surfing over to The Huffington Post website, he said he sees a lot of videos and pictures of himself. But Colbert did not get a cut of the acquisition money himself so he decided to launch a website called The Colbuffington Re-Post. Yup, its a real website. And Huffington Post retaliated by launching a website called Huffbert Nation. [Mediaite]

This past week on The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert decided to bash on News Corp’s The Daily iPad newspaper. Colbert said he was impressed by the product and said it offers “all the convenience of using your iPad to read the news online, but without the Internet’s annoying habit of being completely free.” Colbert also pointed out that The Daily is being praised by all of the media that is owned by Rupert Murdoch. The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report are returning to Hulu.com through a broad content agreement with Viacom. Each of the shows will be available on Hulu.com the morning after they air. Hulu will also offer episodes of Jersey Shore, The Hills, Chappelle’s Show, Reno 911, Teen Mom 2, and Tosh.0 21 days after the on-air premiere. “Welcome to Hulu Plus, Snooki,” wrote CEO Jason Kilar on the Hulu blog.

Stephen Colbert raised $150,000 for the Gulf oil spill through a sponsorship by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). Microsoft had agreed to give $2,500 to The Colbert Nation Gulf of America Fund each time Stephen Colbert mentioned the word “Bing.” Stephen mentioned Bing 40 times, but not necessarily in the context of the search engine itself.
