Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway and Dan Gilbert’s Quicken Loans are going to award anyone that fills out a perfect 2014 Men’s NCAA Tournament bracket with $1 billion. The prize is going to be paid in 40 annual installments of $25 million. If there is more than one winner, the prize will be shared. The winner or winners can also ask for a lump sum payment.

Warren Buffett has made a donation of $2 billion to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation through his investment company Berkshire Hathaway.  Buffett donated around 17,458,431 in class B shares of Berkshire Hathaway stock, which is trading at around $115 per share today.

Warren Buffett Is Tweeting Now

The world’s richest men are Carlos Slim ($73 billion), Bill Gates ($67 billion), Amancio Ortega ($57 billion), and Warren Buffett ($53.5 billion).  We know that Bill Gates officially tweets.  Now we can count two out of the four of the world’s richest men as Twitter users because Warren Buffett has joined the service.  Buffett sent out his first tweet while being interviewed by Fortune at the University of Nebraska Omaha.  His username is @warrenbuffett.

Warren Buffett Buys Another 5 Million Shares In GM

Berkshire Hathaway, the investment arm of billionaire Warren Buffett, has acquired another 5 million shares in General Motors.  The company has raised their stake in the company to 15 million shares for the quarter ending September 30th.  David Einhorn of Greenlight Capital boosted their stake to 21.6 million shares from 17.4 million shares as of June 30th. Lunch With Warren Buffett Sells For $2.6 Million On eBay

A lunch with Warren Buffett has sold for $2.6 million on eBay this past week. This broke the previous record for a charity auction on eBay: $2.11 million for a lunch with Buffett in 2008. The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Glide Foundation. Glide provides social services for poor people in San Francisco. Buffett is the Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. Buffett’s net worth is estimated to be $47 billion.
