WordPress.com Now Has A $299 Pricing Tier For Unlimited Storage And Better Service

WordPress.com announced a new pricing plan today for premium blog hosting tailored around business customers.  The new service costs $299 per year and is available under the WordPress.com Business line of services.  Features that come with the $299 per year package include live customer support, unlimited storage, and unlimited access to premium themes.  The package also includes a personal domain name.

Automattic Acquires Code Garage

Automattic is the parent company of the popular blogging platform, WordPress.  Automattic has acquired security company CodeGarage.  Automattic also runs a WordPress backup and security company called VaultPress.  CodeGarage is believed to be one of the best alternatives for the VaultPress service.  CodeGarage allows you to monitor 5 websites per month for $25.  VaultPress charges a flat fee per website.  Peter Butler, one of the founders at Code Garage, is joining Automattic.

Automattic Announces WordPress.com Enterprise

Automattic has announced that they have launched a new platform called WordPress.com Enterprise.  WordPress.com Enterprise has all the best features of WordPress.com including paid upgrades, premium themes, and custom design.  It also has built-in WordPress.com VIP features including over 70 vetted plugins and integration with top partners like Facebook, Chartbeat, and Flipboard.  Some of their beta customers includes ESPN’s Digital and Print Products and Tim Ferriss’ The 4-Hour Chef.  WordPress.com Enterprise can be purchased through the WordPress.com Store for around $500 per month.  [Source: WordPress Blog]
