10x Genomics highlighted what it described as an extraordinary customer response to Atera during the second quarter of 2026 as the life science technology company expanded its multiomics capabilities through an acquisition and new research collaborations.
Management pointed to strong engagement with Atera across the research ecosystem and very strong early order flow as the standout development of the quarter. The momentum comes as 10x Genomics continues to invest in technologies spanning single-cell and spatial biology.
The company also acquired Proteintech Genomics, a division of Proteintech Group, adding advanced protein-detection capabilities to its single-cell and spatial platforms. 10x said the transaction strengthens its broader multiomics strategy.
At the same time, 10x Genomics announced multi-year research collaborations with Cleveland Clinic and Lausanne University Hospital. The projects are focused on advancing research into diagnostic applications of single-cell and spatial technologies for cancer care, furthering the company’s diagnostics strategy.
Second-quarter revenue was $151 million compared with $172.9 million a year earlier. However, both periods included non-recurring revenue from patent litigation settlements. Excluding $1.6 million of settlement-related revenue in Q2 2026 and $27.3 million in Q2 2025, underlying revenue increased 3% year-over-year.
Gross margin increased to 74% from 72%, reflecting lower manufacturing costs, including a $2.6 million tariff refund, and lower inventory write-downs. The company posted a $17.9 million net loss compared with net income of $34.5 million in the prior-year period, which was also affected by settlement-related items.
10x Genomics ended June with $552 million of cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities. Following the quarter, it raised its full-year revenue guidance to between $610 million and $630 million from the previous $600 million to $625 million range. Excluding non-recurring litigation-related revenue in both years, the updated outlook represents 2% to 5% growth from 2025.
