Could you tell me more about your background? Pladgeman said:

“I’ve spent over two decades with 10ZiG, which has given me a unique, end-to-end perspective on both the company and the thin client market. I originally joined when we were launching operations in the UK, effectively as the first employee there. In those early days, I handled everything from sales and support to logistics and accounting. That hands-on start gave me a deep appreciation for how every part of the business connects.”

“In 2007, I relocated to the U.S. to help grow the business internationally and moved through progressively broader leadership roles. While my title today is Vice President of Sales, my responsibilities span operations, execution, and customer engagement. That breadth continues to shape how I approach leadership and decision-making.”

How did the idea for the company come together? Pladgeman shared:

“10ZiG was founded around a belief that endpoint devices should be purpose-built for the way people actually access centralized systems, rather than relying on general-purpose PCs. The company began by delivering Ethernet-based thin client terminals designed for reliable, low-power access to IBM AS/400 environments using 5250 emulation. As enterprise computing models evolved, 10ZiG expanded to support published applications through Citrix, along with RDP and early web-based use cases.”

“Over time, this foundation naturally evolved into today’s focus on thin and zero clients optimized for virtual desktops, cloud-delivered workspaces, and secure web applications. That long history of adapting endpoints to changing access models continues to shape 10ZiG’s approach to product development and customer support.”

“This specialization has influenced everything from operating system design to management tools and support models. Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, the company has remained focused on doing one thing extremely well: enabling secure, high-performance digital workspaces at the endpoint.”

What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Pladgeman reflected:

“One of my most memorable experiences comes from the very early days, when we were literally operating out of a house in the UK. Every room had a purpose—production, IT, storage—and everyone did whatever was needed to keep the business moving.”

“Those moments defined the culture we still have today. That “all hands on deck” mentality created a strong sense of ownership and accountability, and it’s something that continues to influence how we work with customers and with each other, even as the company has grown globally.”

Both product lines are optimized for leading brokers such as Omnissa, Citrix, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, and Amazon WorkSpaces, and support high-resolution displays and peripheral integration.”

“In addition, RepurpOS transforms existing PCs, laptops, and third-party thin clients into secure, managed endpoints, while 10ZiG Manager provides a free, cloud-ready console for centralized deployment, monitoring, updates, and troubleshooting across all devices, new or repurposed. Together, these components help organizations standardize endpoints, extend hardware lifecycles, and reduce IT complexity.”

Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently? Pladgeman acknowledged:

“The pandemic was the most significant challenge we’ve faced, combining supply chain disruptions, sudden shifts to remote work, and rapid changes in user expectations. Shipping delays, component shortages, and the need for immediate support for collaboration tools like Teams and Zoom created pressure across the organization.”

“We responded by accelerating product development, adjusting logistics strategies, increasing inventory, and shifting our go-to-market efforts toward digital engagement. Most importantly, we stayed focused on execution and communication. Being transparent with customers and adaptable internally allowed us not just to weather the disruption, but to grow through it.”

How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Pladgeman noted:

“While the core mission hasn’t changed, the technology has evolved significantly. Early on, the focus was on reliable, secure endpoint access. Over time, that expanded to include advanced unified communications support, stronger security controls, and deeper management capabilities.”

“More recently, our management platform has become a major area of innovation. Each release has focused on making it easier for IT teams to manage large, diverse endpoint fleets efficiently, securely, and without unnecessary complexity.”

“Several milestones stand out. One was our expansion into the U.S. market, which set the stage for continued global growth. “The rapid response during the work-from-home surge was another defining moment. Maintaining product availability and accelerating feature delivery during a period when many competitors struggled reinforced our reputation for reliability and customer commitment.”

“One success example features a large U.S. hospital which streamlined its virtual desktop environment by combining zero clients with repurposed legacy PCs, reducing endpoint complexity while improving performance for clinicians. Another is a legal firm that modernized its desktop infrastructure by replacing traditional PCs with thin clients over a single weekend, simplifying management and supporting Azure Virtual Desktop with minimal disruption. Also notable was a California-based unified school district that deployed zero clients to replace aging Windows machines, significantly reducing downtime and ongoing maintenance while improving reliability for staff and students.”

“Other examples highlight 10ZiG’s service-driven approach. For instance, a large call center depended on a specific headset that was not initially supported. Rather than asking the customer to change hardware, 10ZiG’s R&D team added the required driver and delivered updated firmware within 24 hours. That level of responsiveness (adapting technology to real-world requirements) has been a key factor in winning and retaining customers across highly demanding environments.”

“We operate within the global endpoint computing market tied to VDI, DaaS, and secure cloud workspaces, which continues to expand as organizations adopt hybrid work models and tighten security requirements. For example, Markets and Markets reports that the desktop virtualization market is expected to reach $20.1 billion by 2027, and according to Future Market Insights the DaaS market forecast value is expected to reach $48.7 billion by 2035. Our TAM includes both new endpoint deployments and the growing opportunity to repurpose existing devices across these endpoint computing models as organizations modernize their environments.”
