1Komma5Grad Secures $1.35 Billion Valuation And Plans Over $112 Million Investment In Energy AI

German home electrification startup 1Komma5Grad secured a valuation of $1.35 billion in its latest financing round as the company increases investment in its energy artificial intelligence business, according to Reuters.

The company plans to invest more than €100 million, or approximately $112 million, in its Heartbeat energy AI platform during 2027.

1Komma5Grad describes itself as a home electrification company and is developing Heartbeat to automate a range of energy-related processes.

The platform targets functions including energy trading, billing, and metering, creating an AI-based layer to manage residential energy systems and related services.

The increased investment reflects the company’s strategy to expand beyond installing home energy systems and build software capabilities around how those assets are managed.

1Komma5Grad is also considering a significant geographic expansion.

CEO Philipp Schroeder said the company plans to expand into the United States beginning next year, citing strong investor interest as one factor behind the potential move.

The U.S. market could become an important part of the company’s next phase as it scales Heartbeat and its broader home electrification platform.

The company had previously considered a U.S. initial public offering but shelved those plans in 2025 amid uncertainty surrounding renewable energy and trade policy.

Schroeder said the company’s 2027 performance will play an important role in determining whether and when 1Komma5Grad ultimately moves ahead with a U.S. IPO.

The company has also confirmed a target of approximately $750 million in revenue for its 2026 financial year.

Hitting that target, alongside continued expansion of Heartbeat and a potential U.S. market entry, would add milestones as management evaluates the company’s longer-term capital markets strategy.

The latest financing gives 1Komma5Grad a $1.35 billion valuation while providing further support for its push to use AI to automate energy management and related processes across its platform.
