55ip, a wholly owned subsidiary of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, has appointed Michael Camp as Chief Client Officer as the financial technology company continues expanding its tax-smart investment platform. Based in Boston, Camp will lead the company’s client business and help shape its strategic priorities, reporting directly to Gautam Sachdev, CEO of 55ip. His appointment follows substantial growth at the company, with assets under supervision (AUS) increasing from $317 million in March 2020 to more than $140 billion as of July 2026.
In his new role, Camp will focus on helping financial advisors and enterprise partners adopt and expand their use of 55ip’s tax-smart investing platform. He will work across the company’s client, product, and business teams to strengthen relationships, improve the client experience, and help advisors realize the long-term value of its technology.
Camp has been with 55ip since March 2020, most recently serving as Managing Director and Head of Client Solutions. In that position, he led advisor-facing teams supporting the company’s existing partners and prospective clients while helping expand its customer base and assets under supervision.
During his tenure, 55ip has expanded beyond its original focus on registered investment advisors (RIAs) to serve wirehouses, broker-dealers, and national RIAs. The company’s platform provides automated investment management and tax optimization capabilities designed to help financial advisors deliver personalized portfolios at scale.
Before joining 55ip, Camp spent more than 15 years at BlackRock, holding positions across product strategy, client portfolio management, and portfolio consulting. In his final role at BlackRock, he served as Head of Portfolio Solutions for the wirehouse channel, leading efforts to provide financial advisors with portfolio construction guidance and consulting services.
His experience across investment management, advisory technology, and enterprise relationships will support 55ip’s efforts to expand adoption of its platform among financial institutions and wealth management firms.
Camp holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English from the University of Virginia and is a member of the Boston chapter of the CFA Society.
