8×8 Buys Mobile Marketing And Messaging Company Maven Lab

8×8 has acquired Maven Lab, a Singapore-based mobile marketing and enterprise messaging provider, as the communications software company pushes to deliver more end-to-end customer engagement capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region. Financial terms were not disclosed.

8×8 said the deal strengthens its APAC-native capabilities in messaging, automation and customer engagement—areas that are increasingly critical for enterprise and public-sector organizations that need secure, high-volume communications with local relevance and the ability to scale regionally.

A key focus of the acquisition is integrating Moobidesk, Maven Lab’s cloud-based customer engagement and messaging platform, into the 8×8 Platform for CX. 8×8 positioned the combination as a way to offer a more unified and scalable approach to enterprise messaging in the region while supporting a broader set of customer interaction channels.

The combined teams will also assess enhancements aimed at deeper engagement and orchestration, including richer interaction experiences, more advanced automation and support for emerging channels. 8×8 said it expects the expanded toolkit to help organizations in industries such as financial services, eCommerce, healthcare, logistics and travel improve the speed and consistency of outbound communications while maintaining stronger governance.

Maven Lab’s platforms are already used by regional organizations in healthcare, media and transport, delivering millions of customer engagements and notification messages annually, according to the companies. With Maven Lab now operating under 8×8, customers are expected to gain access to 8×8’s global scale, regional data centers and enterprise compliance capabilities, which 8×8 said can improve throughput and reliability while strengthening data protection and security.

8×8 also highlighted its fraud prevention and authentication capabilities as an additional layer for organizations that rely on high-volume messaging for time-sensitive use cases such as outreach, alerts and transactional communications. The company framed the acquisition as part of its broader CPaaS strategy, aimed at helping enterprises move beyond point communications toward orchestrated, omnichannel customer journeys.
