A.G. BARR: H1 Revenue Rises 8.5% To £247.4 Million

A.G. BARR reported first-half fiscal 2027 revenue of £247.4 million, up 8.5% from £228.1 million, driven by growth across its core beverage portfolio and contributions from recently acquired Fentimans and Frobishers.

The company, whose brands include IRN-BRU, Rubicon, Boost, Fentimans, and Frobishers, maintained an adjusted operating margin of 15% despite supply constraints during the summer trading period.

Adjusted profit before tax increased 2.6% to £36.1 million, while statutory profit before tax declined 3.7% to £33.9 million, primarily because of one-time costs associated with integrating Fentimans.

Adjusted basic EPS was 24.99 pence compared with 24.90 pence a year earlier.

The board increased the interim dividend to 3.82 pence per share from 3.44 pence.

A.G. BARR ended the period with £47 million of net bank debt, reflecting acquisition spending, elevated capital investment, and seasonal working capital requirements.

The company said supply problems that constrained customer service during the peak summer period have been resolved and service levels are normalizing.

Its manufacturing investment program is also progressing.

A production-line refresh in Cumbernauld has been completed, while expansion at Milton Keynes remains on schedule.

The company completed integration of Fentimans and Frobishers, with additional cost synergies expected during the second half.

Brand investment included refreshes of IRN-BRU and Rubicon as well as the launch of Boost Water+, a zero-sugar vitamin and electrolyte water product.

For the full year, A.G. BARR continues to expect approximately 10% revenue growth, an adjusted operating margin of around 15%, and adjusted return on capital employed of approximately 19%.

The company said it remains on track to meet market expectations for the year.
