A-LIGN has acquired Pathfynder, adding advanced offensive and defensive cybersecurity capabilities to its compliance and security platform.
Pathfynder is a veteran-owned cybersecurity firm whose team brings experience across cybersecurity, the military and the intelligence community.
Its services include network, cloud and web application penetration testing, red teaming, adversary emulation, testing of emerging technologies, digital forensics and incident response.
A-LIGN said the acquisition addresses increasing enterprise demand for technical security testing as cyber threats become more sophisticated and increasingly incorporate artificial intelligence.
Pathfynder will operate as Pathfynder by A-LIGN and remain a specialized team within the larger organization.
The structure is designed to preserve independence between A-LIGN’s assurance and assessment organization and Pathfynder’s penetration testing operations while still allowing the teams to use shared customer knowledge where appropriate.
The acquisition gives A-LIGN’s more than 6,400 existing customers access to additional offensive security capabilities without requiring them to add another security vendor.
A-LIGN has completed more than 36,000 audits and describes itself as the largest issuer of SOC 2 reports and a top-three FedRAMP assessor. Its compliance offerings cover frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, CMMC, ISO 42001, PCI, and HITRUST.
