Aavalynx has raised £1.5 million in pre-seed funding to expand its artificial intelligence-powered platform for helping enterprises understand and manage the financial risks associated with legal disputes. Omega Ventures led the round, with participation from Two Ravens and a group of angel investors that included senior law firm partners and a former European executive at Amazon.
The London-based company plans to use the funding to accelerate product development, expand its team and increase adoption of its dispute intelligence platform among enterprise customers.
Founded in 2023 by dispute resolution lawyer Hanna Roos, Aavalynx is designed to help business and legal leaders analyze dispute portfolios, forecast financial exposure and make data-driven decisions earlier in the dispute lifecycle.
The platform structures and analyzes information from legal cases to help organizations identify patterns, evaluate potential outcomes and understand the broader commercial consequences of litigation.
Aavalynx said its technology can support legal departments, law firms and litigation funders seeking to improve strategic decision-making, reduce legal expenses and resolve disputes more quickly.
The company is positioning disputes as an enterprise risk and capital management issue rather than solely a legal function.
Legal disputes can create financial exposure beyond attorney fees and damages, including reputational harm, disruption to commercial relationships and the loss of customer trust. Cases can also continue for years or decades, making it difficult for companies to forecast their total costs.
Aavalynx said many organizations still lack structured data and integrated tools for assessing their complete dispute portfolios. As a result, business leaders may be unable to compare cases, identify emerging risks or determine where early intervention could have the greatest financial impact.
The company’s proprietary AI technology enables users to organize and interrogate dispute data at scale. It is intended to give companies greater visibility into potential outcomes and help them move from responding to cases after risks materialize toward proactively managing their exposure.
Aavalynx reported that early customer data indicated a return on investment of approximately 30 times through avoided damages, legal fees and interest. The company said the figure could reach as high as 200 times when rescued commercial opportunities are included.
The company cited a global legal services market valued at approximately $1.15 trillion. About 30% of total external corporate legal spending is directed toward litigation, according to figures included in the company’s announcement.
Aavalynx also cited a 2026 survey of U.S. corporate counsel indicating that 80% of companies were involved in at least one lawsuit during 2025 and more than 46% expected litigation activity to increase.
The company has worked with co-development partners including Vodafone since launching in 2023.
Roos founded Aavalynx after nearly two decades managing international disputes at Freshfields, Latham & Watkins and Quinn Emanuel.
Her experience handling complex, high-value cases informed Aavalynx’s focus on decisions made during the early stages of a dispute, when companies may have the greatest opportunity to influence its duration, cost and commercial consequences.
Rather than using general-purpose AI solely to increase lawyer productivity, Aavalynx is developing specialized technology intended to help organizations determine which disputes to pursue, settle or prevent.
The company plans to take a targeted approach to future financing by working with investors that provide legal-sector expertise and access to prospective enterprise customers.
