Aboard, a Southern California-based startup focused on modern mobile living, announced it has completed a Pre-Series A financing round, bringing the company’s total funding to $13 million. The round was led by Ondine Capital and Llama Ventures, and the new capital will support the company’s next phase of growth as it prepares its extended-range electric travel trailer for mass production.
The company said the funding will be used to complete product validation and continue refining its upcoming electric recreational trailer platform. Aboard’s first product is an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) travel trailer designed as a fully integrated system that combines mobility, energy, and living capabilities into a single platform.
According to the company, the trailer is engineered to deliver a quiet electric experience with built-in energy independence, automated comfort systems, and vehicle-level towing and control. The platform also incorporates automotive-grade manufacturing technologies, including high-precision stamped body and door systems, in an effort to improve reliability and ease of use compared to traditional RV systems.
Aboard was founded by a team with automotive engineering backgrounds and aims to apply vehicle-level design, engineering, and manufacturing principles to the travel trailer category. The company said its approach is intended to create a more seamless mobile living experience while reducing the operational complexity often associated with conventional RVs.
The company will formally launch publicly on May 29 during Outside Days in Denver, Colorado, an outdoor industry conference and festival where attendees will be able to tour the travel trailer, meet the company’s team, and learn more about product configurations. Pricing for the travel trailer is expected to start at $80,000.
Aboard said the launch event represents a major milestone as it expands engagement with outdoor communities and continues preparing the product for broader commercialization.
