The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and Biocom California announced a strategic partnership to create a formal gateway between Abu Dhabi and California’s life sciences ecosystems.

Biocom California is one of the world’s largest life sciences associations, representing more than 1,800 biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical technology organizations. Through the partnership, both groups aim to strengthen connectivity between innovators, researchers, investors, and entrepreneurs across both markets.

The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities to accelerate the development, validation, and scaling of next-generation health solutions. Both parties will exchange expertise on life sciences ecosystem and cluster development, including industry best practices, sector policy insights, and lessons learned.

The partnership connects California’s life sciences community with Abu Dhabi’s Health, Endurance, Longevity and Medicine (HELM) Cluster. This creates opportunities for companies to build, test, and scale innovations across both markets.

Through Biocom California, U.S.-based biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical technology leaders will gain access to Abu Dhabi’s intelligent life sciences ecosystem and living lab model. This model is designed to bring discovery, validation, and real-world implementation together within a single environment.

The partnership also supports Abu Dhabi’s broader goal of strengthening its position as a global hub for life sciences innovation. By connecting with California’s established life sciences ecosystem, Abu Dhabi is seeking to attract companies, researchers, and investors working on advanced health solutions and therapies.
