Academy Asset Management, a veteran-owned institutional investment manager affiliated with Academy Securities, has appointed Nate Neibauer as Client Portfolio Manager. Neibauer joins from Amazon, where he served as Head of Investments and managed more than $100 billion in investment strategies. His appointment expands Academy’s institutional portfolio management and client advisory capabilities as the firm continues developing its fixed-income investment platform.
At Amazon, Neibauer established the company’s internal investment management team and oversaw its investment strategy, portfolio management infrastructure, and governance framework.
His responsibilities included managing external investment mandates, liquidity, counterparty risk, and investment advisory activities.
He also led Amazon’s short-term funding operations, overseeing the issuance of the company’s $30 billion commercial paper program.
Before joining Amazon, Neibauer spent 12 years at Ford Motor Company, most recently serving as Senior Portfolio Manager in Fixed Income Trading.
At Ford, he helped manage the company’s liquidity portfolio and gained experience across institutional fixed-income investing and corporate treasury operations.
Neibauer holds an undergraduate degree from Columbia University and an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
