Accenture and Anthropic have formed a partnership to create a dedicated team of embedded AI evaluators working directly alongside Anthropic’s internal teams and safety partners.
The companies each expect to invest at least $1 billion over the next five years in AI safety, representing at least $2 billion in combined expected investment.
The embedded team will evaluate and red-team Anthropic models, conduct alignment assessments and test safeguards as the companies seek to develop more systematic approaches to evaluating increasingly capable AI systems.
Accenture plans to draw heavily on expertise from Faculty, the applied AI company it acquired.
Faculty has experience testing and evaluating models for major AI laboratories and developing AI systems for high-stakes environments including government, defense, healthcare and infrastructure. Its previous work includes development of the U.K. National Health Service’s Early Warning System during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The partnership is centered around an emerging model for AI safety in which independent or semi-independent evaluators work much more closely with frontier laboratories during model development rather than assessing systems only after they have been released.
That structure can bring specialized security, safety and industry knowledge directly into model testing.
Accenture said effective evaluation requires understanding both the technical behavior of AI models and the real-world environments in which businesses, governments and other organizations will deploy them.
The collaboration also expands Accenture’s broader push into responsible AI as enterprise customers increasingly deploy generative and agentic systems across sensitive workflows.
Accenture employs approximately 799,000 people, serves roughly 9,000 clients and generated approximately $70 billion in fiscal 2025 revenue.
KEY QUOTES:
“Safety requires both deep technical expertise and a clear understanding of how AI is used in the real world.”
“Embedded evaluation is an emerging area and we look forward to partnering with Anthropic to help accelerate the development of embedded evaluators, which we see as an important part of the safety landscape going forward.”
Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture
“Faculty, which is now part of Accenture, was founded on the belief that AI should be safe by design, not safe by accident.”
Dr. Marc Warner, Chief Technology Officer of Accenture and CEO of Faculty
