Accenture has entered into an agreement to acquire Ookla, a Seattle-based network intelligence and connectivity analytics company known for products including Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, and RootMetrics. The acquisition is designed to strengthen Accenture’s ability to deliver network intelligence and data-driven insights for enterprises, telecommunications providers, and cloud infrastructure companies.

By integrating Ookla’s data platform with its consulting and technology services, Accenture aims to help organizations optimize the Wi-Fi and 5G networks that support digital infrastructure and AI-powered operations. The company said network data has become increasingly valuable across industries as businesses rely on connectivity insights to improve performance, security, and customer experience.

Ookla’s platform captures more than 1,000 attributes per network test and processes over 250 million consumer-initiated tests each month. This data helps organizations monitor network performance and identify service disruptions while providing detailed insights into quality of service, radio frequency signals, and overall connectivity experience.

Accenture said the acquisition will enhance its ability to support communications service providers building autonomous networks, hyperscalers running AI infrastructure and edge data centers, and enterprises deploying private 5G and advanced Wi-Fi systems. Ookla’s Ekahau platform, for example, provides hardware and software tools used to design and troubleshoot wireless networks in corporate environments.

Founded in 2006 and currently a division of Ziff Davis, Ookla employs roughly 430 specialists in areas including software engineering, radio frequency engineering, and data science. The company combines crowdsourced consumer tests with controlled drive and walk testing methods to provide detailed visibility into network performance worldwide.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
