ACI Worldwide, a leader in payments technology, has announced the acquisition of Payment Components, a European fintech company recognized for its AI-driven financial messaging and Open Banking solutions. The acquisition aims to enhance the capabilities of ACI Connetic, the company’s unified, cloud-native payments platform that integrates account-to-account (A2A) payments, card processing, and AI-based fraud prevention within a modular architecture.
Founded in 2014 in Greece, Payment Components provides software for A2A payments, API management, and financial messaging, enabling faster transaction orchestration and simplified payment workflows. Its technology supports a wide range of financial message types and promotes faster integration of local payment schemes. The company currently serves 65 banks and financial institutions across 25 countries, utilizing generative AI to enhance the agility and intelligence of its payment operations.
Through this acquisition, ACI Worldwide will fully integrate Payment Components’ technology, intellectual property, and team. The collaboration between ACI’s developers and Payment Components’ engineers will focus on embedding advanced financial messaging and orchestration capabilities directly into ACI Connetic. This move is expected to accelerate ACI’s product roadmap and expand its global presence in intelligent payments orchestration.
Although the financial terms were not disclosed, ACI stated that the acquisition is not expected to have a material financial impact. However, it marks an important strategic milestone as ACI continues investing in AI-driven innovation to streamline payments infrastructure for banks and financial institutions worldwide.
