Acorn Acquires B Online Learning To Strengthen Workforce Readiness Platform

Acorn announced the acquisition of B Online Learning, an Australia and New Zealand-based eLearning design and development provider. The deal brings expert-built content and regional Articulate training capabilities into Acorn’s skills and development platform.

B Online Learning has spent two decades building custom eLearning for government, regulated industry, and enterprise organizations across health, energy, and agriculture in Australia and New Zealand. The company delivers learning through its Birch Learning Platform.

Since 2012, B Online Learning has served as the exclusive Articulate Certified Training Partner for Australia and New Zealand. The company has trained more than 10,000 learning designers and L&D administrators.

Acorn said the acquisition addresses the gap between learning investment and workforce readiness. The company cited the 2026 State of Learning for AI Fluency Report, which found that 77% of organizations still treat course completion as proof that skills exist. Acorn also cited Mercer research showing that 79% of executives identify better insight into their people’s capabilities as essential for stronger business performance.

Acorn’s platform includes a skills framework of more than 1,600 capabilities and 4,800 proficiency levels. Combined with B Online Learning’s content development expertise, Acorn said organizations can build learning mapped to specific roles, measured against actual skill needs, and proven through what employees can demonstrate.

The acquisition follows Acorn’s expansion into global markets and strengthens its platform for HR leaders, talent management teams, and L&D administrators. Acorn said the deal supports organizations where workforce readiness is a measurable business outcome.
