Gamut Capital Management has agreed to acquire Acousti Engineering Company from Ardian, marking a new phase of growth for the Southeast-focused construction services provider.

Headquartered in Orlando, Acousti is a large specialty interiors contractor offering ceiling, drywall, and flooring solutions across more than 15 metropolitan areas in the Southeastern United States. Founded in 1946, the company serves a wide range of institutional and commercial end markets, including education, healthcare, transportation, municipalities, and recreation.

Acousti has also built a presence in high-growth sectors through its Advanced Facilities Division, which delivers specialized solutions for data centers and advanced manufacturing environments. The company maintains long-standing relationships with general contractors and end customers across its footprint.

Gamut, a New York-based private equity firm managing over $3 billion in assets, said the acquisition aligns with its strategy of investing in middle-market companies with strong growth potential. The firm plans to support Acousti’s expansion into new geographies and pursue additional acquisitions while enhancing service capabilities.

The transaction reflects continued investor interest in construction services businesses tied to infrastructure and data center demand, particularly in fast-growing regional markets.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions.

KEY QUOTES:

“We are proud of the team and platform we have built at Acousti and are grateful to Ardian for their partnership over the past several years. We are excited to partner with Gamut as we enter our next phase of growth, with a focus on expanding into new geographies and executing a disciplined acquisition strategy while continuing to strengthen our customer and supplier relationships.”

Jason Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of Acousti Engineering Company

“We are excited to partner with Jason and the Acousti team to build on the strong foundation they have established. Acousti is a market leader in specialty interior finishes across the Southeast, serving a large and fragmented market supported by attractive long-term growth fundamentals, including increasing demand driven by data center construction. We see a significant opportunity to drive both organic growth and targeted M&A to expand the Company’s geographic footprint and service capabilities, and we look forward to supporting the team in executing this strategy.”
