Pulse 2.0 interviewed Acre Security CEO Kumar Sokka to gain a deeper understanding of the company.

Kumar Sokka’s Background

Kumar Sokka

What is your background?

“I spent more than a decade in manufacturing, an environment where downtime is costly, automation is expected, and continuous learning drives performance. That’s where I saw how connecting hardware, software, and data could reshape operations in real time.”

“When I entered security, I saw a similar opportunity. This industry has incredible hardware — doors, sensors, panels — but often these systems operates in silos. What excited me was the chance to unify all of it. When you connect IoT devices, cloud software, and best-in-breed technologies through open integration, you move from reactive to proactive. You don’t just detect threats — you predict and respond before they escalate. You don’t just monitor buildings — you optimize them. That’s where AI is taking us, and that’s the mindset I bring to Acre: building a platform that learns, adapts, and delivers real-world impact at scale.”

My role starts with setting a clear vision and strategy but what drives success is the culture behind it. We’re in the middle of a generational shift in this industry, and it’s our people who will turn strategy into progress.”

“That’s why one of my first moves was building the right leadership team — people who embody candor, integrity, customer centricity, simplicity, and urgency. Those aren’t just buzzwords — they’re the foundation of how we operate. We’ve built a team that moves with purpose and inspires change across the business. Because when you combine great people with a bold vision, the momentum builds fast.”

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features?

“At our core, we have three best-in-class platforms: Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Identity and Visitor Management. That foundation was established when Acre was first formed — and now, we’re bringing it all together through the One Acre Platform.”

“This isn’t just about bundling products. It’s about delivering one experience — with unified architecture, shared data, consistent UI, and open integration across systems. Whether it’s a global enterprise or a local school, customers want simplicity without compromise. That’s what our platform delivers. It is modular, scalable, and ready to adapt to any environment.”

Challenges Faced

What challenges have Sokka and the team faced in building the company?

Like many companies that grew through acquisition, we started as a collection of powerful brands. The challenge was turning that collection into a connected platform with a common backend, unified data, and one customer experience.”

“We’ve made major progress there. We’ve unified our ERP, data warehouse, customer portal, and are now rolling out our unified console across products. These aren’t back-office upgrades — they’re foundational to how we simplify delivery, improve insight, and speed up innovation for our customers.”

Evolution of The Company’s Technology

How has the company’s technology evolved since its launch?

“We’re proud to be enterprise-first and that shows in everything from how we architect our cloud-native platform to how we manage scale, security, and reliability. This is a platform trusted by some of the world’s largest organizations as well as local hospitals and K–12 school districts.”

“But enterprise-grade doesn’t mean complex. It means robust and simple at the same time. We’re doing that by leveraging conversational AI for better support, building open APIs for faster integration, and launching a community-driven marketplace where partners can upload new features and workflows. Whether it’s solving for data residency across borders or unifying access, identity, and intrusion — we’re innovating with purpose.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones?

“A few stand out. Acquiring Feenics gave us the cloud-native backbone to scale our access control business. Acquiring REKS.ai brought embedded AI that now powers intelligent features across our platform.”

“But the biggest milestone is what we’re doing now — launching the One Acre Platform. That’s the culmination of years of investment in architecture, cloud infrastructure, and user experience. It’s what allows us to turn best-in-class products into one integrated solution, backed by the systems and leadership to scale it globally.”

Differentiation From The Competition

What differentiates the company from its competition?

“Acre brings together what no one else in the industry can: best-in-breed technology across access, intrusion, and identity — unified, open, and ready to scale.”

“We’re not forcing customers into closed ecosystems. We’re empowering them with flexibility, openness, and the ability to modernize at their own pace. And we’re doing it with a mission-led culture that puts the customer first, every time.”

“We’ve got the heritage. We’ve got the people. And now, we’ve got the platform to move the industry forward — faster, smarter, and more connected than ever.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future goals?

“We’re building the leading platform for intelligent, unified security — where access, intrusion, and identity come together in one seamless experience. That means investing in open architecture, simplified deployment, and scalable design that meets customers where they are.”

“But we’re also thinking bigger. As buildings get smarter, security becomes a catalyst for operational efficiency, from automating risk response to optimizing energy use. When systems are connected and context-aware, security moves from reactive to proactive.”

“Our goal is simple: help customers move forward, securely, intelligently, and at their pace.”
