Acron Technologies, a defense and aerospace technology company backed by TJC, L.P., has acquired Sightline Intelligence, a specialist in edge-based AI video processing and target recognition for autonomous aircraft and mission-critical defense applications. The deal adds real-time onboard intelligence capabilities to Acron’s existing portfolio of electro-optical and infrared hardware, video processing, and compression technologies.
Sightline Intelligence, founded in 2007 and headquartered in Portland, Oregon, delivers ultra-low Size, Weight, and Power embedded systems that process and analyze video directly at the edge, eliminating reliance on cloud connectivity and reducing latency in bandwidth-constrained environments. Its technology provides millisecond Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance insights for autonomous aircraft, tactical teams, and mission platforms operating in contested or disconnected settings. The company’s solutions are deployed across more than 30 countries in defense, public safety, border security, and maritime surveillance applications.
The acquisition advances Acron’s strategy of building a comprehensive suite of advanced video technologies for mission-critical operations through targeted investments in sensing, intelligence, and integrated mission systems. By combining Sightline’s edge AI capabilities with its existing hardware and software stack, Acron positions itself as a more complete provider of avionics, connectivity, and proprietary defense systems across the aerospace and defense markets.
